Sugar beet viability in Box Butte Nebraska for a factory

Newspaper notes experiments show sugar beets can be grown in the valley hills and table lands with strong saccharine content, nearly double that of irrigated districts. Box Butte county winners in statewide contests produced beets at 22 1/2 percent saccharine. Freight to Lakeside would be comparable to valley routes, and profits could arise even without irrigation. Farmers already growing beets for cattle feed report easy, robust growth.
