Father Semper to mark 25 years as priest in two parishes

The Very Rev. Cletus P. Semper of St. Mary's Dalton will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving Oct 18 at 2 PM at St Mary's with a second ceremony Oct 25 at noon at St. Michaels in Spalding. Dalton event includes a 3 to 5 PM reception at Dalton High School and an invitational dinner later.

Panhandle Weather Forecast Light Snow Ending

Light snow ends this afternoon in the Panhandle. Partly cloudy tonight and Thursday with highs around 40 to 50 and 50 to 60 and a low near 20 to 30. Chance of precipitation remains near zero tonight and Thursday. Extended outlook Friday to Sunday calls for generally fair conditions and a rising temperature trend.

The powder puff football game set for Sidney High during Homecoming tonight is canceled due to bad weather. The event was part of Sidney High School Homecoming activities.

Wet Snow Blesses Cheyenne County With Light Fall

Residents awoke to a two hour light rain that turned to wet snow. Two inches lay on the ground by mid morning with 0.3 inch moisture. Snow ended before noon and a warming trend was forecast for the weekend.

A flying caravan of Democrat candidates will visit Sidney for one hour on Thursday morning between 9:30 and 10:30. A reception at the Fort Sidney Motor Hotel is open to the public.
