A pleasant visitor in the city on Tuesday was J. T. Thogelecke of Pocatello Idaho. He once lived in Sidney from 1878 to 1894 and ran a jewelry business before leaving for the west. His devotion to Sidney is celebrated in a fireplace at the Elks Lodge in Pocatello bearing his engraved name. He arrived to observe his 38th wedding anniversary as Mrs Thoelecke has stayed in town the past year.

Obituary for Mr Couch of Hawkinsville and Sidney
Mr Couch born Hawkinsville Tennessee May 20 1848 died Sidney October 10 1916 aged 68 years and some months. He was a Methodist church member for 82 years. His wife died last August at their Louisiana home and C E Couch from this place helped bring his uncle home. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 30 at the Methodist church Reverend L E Lewis conducting the service and he was buried in Greenlawn cemetery.

Tragic Death Of Bailiff's Infant Daughter
The little daughter of Mr and Mrs F A Bailiff died at home about five o'clock Wednesday evening October 11 after ten days illness of stomach trouble. The funeral will be held this afternoon at the Methodist church with Reverend Lewis officiating. She would have been two years old today. She is survived by her parents a six year old sister and many sorrowing relatives.

In a rural Kansas rooming house, Hiram Wiseman shot his wife and then killed himself after Deputy Sheriff Will Krueger confronted him. The victims, the Wisemans, left two orphaned children as investigators and neighbors assembled at the scene. The tragedy followed a day of quarrels and a complaint filed by Mrs. Wiseman. The couple’s bodies were taken to the morgue and buried later that week beside Mrs. Wiseman’s grave.
