Nebraska State School Reorganization Committee ordered the dissolution of redistricting groups in eight of the eleven Panhandle counties including Cheyenne. Forty-three counties overall were directed to end work for failing to submit comprehensive plans. New elections were ordered in Morrill Devlld Kimball Sioux Box Butte Dawes and Garden Counties. Scotts Bluff submitted a plan while Banner consolidated Nebraskas counties into one district. Cheyenne sees ongoing consolidation but no county plan proposed yet.

Tonyes Stikker Dies at 75 Near Dalton Nebraska
Tonyes Stikker 75 died today at his Morrill County farm home ten miles northeast of Dalton after six months of declining health. Funeral set for Monday at 2 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church Dalton with burial in Dalton Cemetery. He born June 24 1882 in Hanover Germany to Conrad and Johannes Middens Stikker came to Cheyenne County in 1889 and to Morrill County in 1903. survived by son Allen, daughter Rose Cortelyou of Fairfax CA, four grandchildren, sister Grace Zorn and brothers Henry and Ben Stikker, all at the farm.

Sidney reports the last of the steam locomotives on the Union Pacific Railroad have been retired again until at least next summer. Coal-burners were placed in retirement after a busy summer along the North Platte Cheyenne district as diesel units arrive and heavy freight slows. The UP typically keeps steam on the Sidney run only during peak freight periods.

City Ladder Truck Wrecked In Smash
The Sidney electric distribution department lost one of its three vehicles when an aerial ladder truck crashed with a 1938 car at the intersection of 18th Avenue and Elm Street at 12 04 p m. Ellsworth Ferguson 31 drove the truck and Mrs Maxine Montgomery 22 of Sidney piloted the other vehicle. The collision center occurred near the intersection as the truck rolled over damaging the ladder and exterior gear.

Final Rites Set Here Saturday For L. T. Rezanina 89
Funeral services for L. T. Rezanina 89 will be at 9 am Saturday from St Patrick s Church. Rev Albert Albel to officiate with burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Rosary at 7 pm tonight at Gehrig and Son. Survivors include four daughters two sons one sister and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rezanina lived 70 years in Cheyenne County after moving from Austria as a child.
