In a western ranch tale Mae Towles asks Sorrel Pete to marry their cantankerous cook to free his chivalrous friend Mac from the vow Mae’s husband made when Pete saved his life. Pete, loyal to a promise, agrees despite prior misgivings and a rough kitchen temperament.
In flounders and soles the head is unsymmetrically formed with both eyes on one side. The body is compressed and the upper eye side is colored while the eyeless side is white. Juvenile flounder rests upright before the lower eye migrates to the other side. in tropical species the eye movement is easy to follow as they grow. Larvae are transparent.
