Jail Break Suspect On The Run Across States
Union Pacific special agents with three states chase James Earl Hill alias Chuck Lewis after he broke from Sidney jail last Wednesday while held for robbing a motorist. Hill linked to counterfeit checks totaling over $1,000 with his wife, and authorities say he fled in a car stolen from the area. Mrs Hill and two children released in Cheyenne, car containing printing gear sent to Oklahoma. Hill, 36, 5'10", 160 pounds, brown eyes, ruddy complexion, wearing gray trousers and tan sweater, last seen near Grand Island and believed headed south. James, injured in a prior theft, recovered and plans to continue to Beverly Hills California.

Neighbors Help Kubes Harvest While He Is Hospitalized
William Kubes operates a south Potter farm and, while hospitalized for a major operation during harvest, his neighbors three or four dozen in number stepped in to cut thresh and market the crops.
