Mrs Souder Mother Of Glen Patrick Dies
Mrs H S Souder aged 89 of Ord died in her sleep Sunday September 23. She was mother of G W Patrick and had lived with Mr and Mrs Patrick at times and was known to many in Sidney. Funeral services were held Tuesday September 25 with burial in Ord. Mr and Mrs Patrick and Mrs Alex Johnson of Dix, a niece, departed for Ord and returned to Sidney last Wednesday.

Adult Education Schedule Listed Start In October
October will see the start of annual adult education classes with Ceramics beginning October 10 under John Hettrick Sidney high school teacher in charge. Courses include Ceramics taught by Mrs Innes Family Economics coordinated by M. M. Selzer Welding by Wyndell Lundy and Woodworking with Don Purrows. Northeastern Junior College Sterling Cotlo. will sponsor the ceramic program with ten lessons three hours weekly costing seven dollars. Family Economics lasts eight weeks with one dollar registration and thirty nine cents per class hour. supplies extra. Other topics include social security estates and wills insurance income tax banking and loans with guest speakers. More courses possible depending on registration and instructors. House Burns on Forrest Street in late Saturday blaze
Sidney volunteer firefighters were summoned at 10 32 p m Saturday to a burning home at 1116 Forrest Street owned by Bill George. Calvin New family had stayed there briefly. no other occupants found. Fire started near a bed in the west end. Initial flames subdued but rekindling occurred after midnight with wind fanning embers.

Interstate Work Must Speed Up For 1972 Goal
Nebraska must triple its Interstate Highway pace to meet the 1972 national goal of 490 miles by year end. Since July 1956 the state has built 12 miles annually, totaling 70 miles, including a 129 mile two lane stretch near Kimball. Nebraska must average 42 new interstate miles yearly for ten years to complete the program. The national system was 308 percent open by June 30 1962, with Nebraska at 4 percent.

The marketing quota referendum in 39-state commercial wheat areas shows 68.4 percent of 247,508 farmers voting yes. Final tally increases votes by about 11,800. Nebraska reports 73.7 percent support.
