Sidney postmaster Leo Gorman will retire December 30 after 40 and a half years with the postal service. A North Platte native, he began work in 1925 and spent time in Hastings Pasadena Fontana and San Francisco Navy duty before returning to Sidney. He will continue to live in Sidney and seeks further work.

Snow Storm Fizzles Out Over Western Nebraska
A weekend snow storm aimed at western Nebraska veered off course and failed to arrive. Sidney saw three inches of new snow with moisture variation across the Panhandle. a larger system promised by weather officials did not materialize.
