Miss Florence Eva Rogers sixteen year old daughter of J E Rogers a well known Crook Colorado farmer died from severe burns after a two gallon kerosene can exploded while she poured kerosene on live coals to light a kitchen stove at Henry Brachtenbach farm eight miles south and four and a half miles west of Sidney The accident occurred Friday evening as she prepared the family meal The girl was found wandering in flames after the explosion her clothing burned away and her parents and neighbors aided in her rescue before she died a few hours later

A Friday evening decision by a seven member committee of retailers wholesalers and insurance men with the Lincoln Clearing House association sets a two and a half cent service fee on every out of town check cashed at Lincoln banks after January 1 1928. Banks may waive the fee only for firms with average monthly balances of $50000 or more and savings account and certificate of deposit rates drop from 4 to 3 percent while the new plan goes into effect. The move follows a November 16 protest meeting at the chamber of commerce.

Police identify man killed near Union Pacific yards
The man killed in Sidney in the yards of the Union Pacific railroad Tuesday night November 22 after being cut in two as he alighted from a fast freight train has been identified by fingerprints.
