Bills approved include Sidney Electric Service Co for lamps and wiring and a $650 payment to Swan Dedrick and F B Tobin for a 14 by 132 foot land strip needed for the proposed combined city hall and fire house with a shared party wall. The marshal was instructed to warn property owners to keep trap doors closed. An adjourned session on October 24 1914 appointed a Library Board with members named for three two and one year terms. A Clean-up Day was set for November 30 and a water meter report was read.

Boy Hit By Car Suffers Serious Injuries Near Palace Barn
Ten year old Ray Martin, son of W. H. Martin living four miles southeast of town, was struck by a car driven by Emil Carlson of Sextorp. He was knocked down and run over, with the radiator area and back sustaining injuries. Four men in the car fled the scene and returned after the collision. Ray was taken downtown to a doctor. his right slung was crushed and back injured. The accident occurred near the Palace Livery barn as he tried to join his brother hitching a team. Carlson notified the parents, who were with him at the Metropolitan hotel, and doctors said he could not be moved yet. All hope for a safe recovery.
