The Telegraph touts an eight page home print weekly with local county news market reports and an editorial page. It claims strong advertising value and moral, easy to read content and invites new subscribers at one dollar fifty cents for a year with a bonus issue for 1913.
The Commercial Club of Lodgepole held its annual banquet last Tuesday to a large, joyful audience. Honorable J L McIntosh delivered the main address in harmony with the community spirit, backed by music and brief speeches. The piece urges Sidney to follow Lodgepole’s example and nurture a commercial club.
We hear no loud protests from county officers about a rumor they must extend terms for another year due to the amendment. Taxpayers are quiet too. Officers may retire at term end but few regret a longer period in office, as they consider the current set adequate for two more years.

Chadron football eleven and twenty fans traveled to Laramie for a game the next day. They paraded and yelled loudly then chanted about Sidney girls. At the depot the conductor refused riders, and the party left town amid high tension and spirited claims they were “all right.”
The Board of County Commissioners at its November 4 1912 meeting approved the list of road claims for Sidney and Potter Road Districts. The notice corrects the prior published list in the paper of the Sth instant to reflect the approved items and amounts.
A quiet week ends with a bustling Saturday as six hundred people fill streets and shops at 2:30. Retail activity peaks with racks full of teams and seventy barn teams plus many autos. Restaurants run over capacity while men outnumber women due to grain and coal hauling. Prospects look strong for an active business season.
Local men L. G. Lowe and Sam Sweet and Frank Whitelock with Louis Pilger travel Wednesday to the North Platte valley to hunt the festive wild goose. The piece contrasts distant warlike sounds with hunting, noting the office will take a portion of the breast and wing.
Sam Boggs traveled to Omaha Sunday morning for about a week to receive Scottish Rite degrees in Masonry. Howard Adams left a day earlier and will also attain this advancement in the Masonic lodge. Both are young men who have reached this stage in their order.
Hiram Eckert on the north divide raised 5000 bushels of potatoes and another 5000 bushels of grain this year. The Eckert brothers celebrated their faithful labor with strong harvests.
Entertainment feature invites guests to dance after the Musical Shirleys performance at the Opera House on December 6. The event blends live music with social dancing for attendees.
P M Lewis began work on the Burlington this week marking the start of a new phase in the project.

John W. White wed Mary Agnes Seeger at the bride’s home, then planning to reside in Sidney after December first. Flora G. Clyne married Clyde W Hammer at Mrs. C. D. Essig’s home. Lawrence A MogNalian wed Bertha Klintwart in Lisco. Clyde William Hammer wed Flora Gertrude Clyne. J H Brownyard wed Beulah Myers of Denver at the Lutheran parsonage.

The passing of a beloved longtime resident, born October 5 1848 in Mecklenburg Schwerin Germany, is noted. She married Ernest Kruse in Davenport Iowa in 1867 and had eight children. Funeral services were held November 17 in Sidney with Reverend Berg officiating and burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.

Program featured Bryant readings, Scotland notes, Riley poems, and germ life talk, ending with a vocal solo and adjournment to three weeks.
Mrs C W Hornaday celebrated a birthday with a secretly planned surprise at her new Hornaday home. Miss Minnie Green and Miss Mary Hargis organized the event attended by about twenty relatives and employees with music, jokes, and dainty refreshments. Prizes were awarded in games, and many presents pleased the birthday guest.
The court house is practically finished inside though contractor Goodhand faces a delay in steel stairs shipment. Once the stairs arrive, installation should be quick and straightforward, with no long disruption anticipated.
