Man Found Dead At Wheel Of Car
John A. Lynch, 63, a Vancouver Washington resident, was found dead at the wheel of his car on highway No. 30 about a mile and a half east of Lodgepole Wednesday night. County physician Dr. B H Grimm attributed the death to a heart attack. Police and sheriff reported the car remained upright with motor off, suggesting he had time to stop after the attack. The body lay at Gehrig Funeral Home awaiting word from relatives. Sheriff Schulz said he had contacted Lynch's daughter in Vancouver.

Sidney man dies in head on highway crash near Chappell
Vaughn Scott 34 of Sidney was killed when his car collided head on with a hay laden truck driven by Sherman Harlan 27 of Rutherland on highway 30 east of Chappell in Deuel County. Scott companion E C Bishop injured badly. Bishop rushed to Julesburg for treatment. Authorities say Scott was driving 55 60 mph and crossing lanes, Harlan avoided impact by steering off road into a borrow pit. Scott’s body taken to Gehrig Funeral Home. funeral Monday at 2 pm in Sidney Greenwood Cemetery.

Officers from six western Nebraska RCA reserve and officers associations are urged to attend a district dinner in Alliance on December 1 at 11 a.m. Albert Walker, Scottsbluff secretary treasurer, says the meeting aims to discuss Nebraska RCA chapters’ coming convention.
