Sidney High Goes All State With 110 Piece Band
The Sidney High School band and director George Hinn travel to Grand Island Friday to perform as the model band at the three day All-State Music Clinic. The 110 member group will sight read Class A music. Seven Sidney choir members join the All-State chorus under conductor Louis H. Diercks with Offutt Air Force Base providing the 50 piece band. Guest conductors include Weston Noble for the All-State band and James Robertson for the All-State orchestra.

Two Sidney Men Suffer Heart Attacks
Two prominent Sidney businessmen, jeweler Lloyd Lockwood and Guy Ellsworth, were hospitalized after heart attacks in the last two days. Lockwood collapsed at his store Monday around noon and Ellsworth was admitted about midnight. Doctors say both are progressing satisfactorily but remain in serious condition.
