Two Sidney High School students Miss Ann Holloway and Bruce Blanchard have been accepted as Rotary Exchange Students and will depart in January for a year abroad in Argentina. Holloway will study in La Cumbre and Blanchard in Cordoba, with Spanish language tutoring before starting school in March.

Sidney business school office readies to open
Howard C. Lile, head of the new Sidney Nebraska Business Institute, arrived from Kansas City to establish the office in the Marathon Oil building. The school aims for 75 to 100 students next spring, with classes expanding to fall and centers enrollment within 75 miles. Mrs. Kay MacCumber will direct the winter office, and initial enrollment will stress basic business courses with no computer instruction at first.

A driver-less car rolled from across from 1313 Cedar and hit a brick wall around 4:35 p m Tuesday, damaging the wall and a 1959 Ford owned by Victor Morris of 1629 Sky Road. Estimated car damage was 50 dollars. wall cost not yet estimated. A separate backing accident at 3:15 p m on 11th Avenue left minor damage to a 1951 Plymouth driven by Frieda Kammermeyer and a 1959 Mercury driven by Sally Madden.

Sugar beet growers in the Ovid factory district will receive over 2.5 million dollars for beets delivered through November 4, representing 98.6 percent of the crop. The average payment is about 9,513 dollars per ton with 16.09 percent sugar content, while yields are down from last year but sugar content is higher. The district harvested over 18,000 acres this year, up from under 10,000 in 1955–60, and the Ovid factory aims to run until around January 20 under superintendent G R Enedolsen.
