Nebraska land in demand boosts western state settlers
The price of deeded lands in western Nebraska has risen from 2 to 5 per acre to 7 to 15 per acre as settlers move in. Improved farming methods now yield more grain per acre, with some unimproved land trading around 10 per acre. Diverse farming and dairy, including cream separation, are growing, and Campbell soil culture suggests ample rain can produce good small grain. An Omaha Bee interview extract notes favorable seasons and steady demand.
