Drought sales move 1200 head of cattle in Cheyenne county
More than 1200 head of drought stricken cattle, including 61 head from Morrill county, sold for 17 378 at Cheyenne county emergency drought relief sales this fall. Five sales produced high bids. 129 condemned as unfit for market, 113 yearlings and calves sent to the FERA and killed for distribution, and 987 shipped for slaughter.

A fodder stack on John Schmitt’s farm six miles west of Sidney burned when children started the fire while parents worked in a field. The blaze spread before discovery, but neighbors and the Sidney fire department saved one stack and prevented total loss.

Poorest Duck Season Ends In Nebraska Report
