Oil activity in Cheyenne County yields two new producers Ohio Oil and Ginther Warren Ginther. Spearow No 2 near Sidney shows 4050 feet oil from 4492 to 4501 feet while total depth reaches 4670 feet. Dorman No 20 northwest of Sidney reports 1650 feet gas cut oil from 4728 to 4741 feet. Several other wells abandoned or plugged with mixed shows and water in Aude No 1 and Sachs No 4. New wildcats listed across Kimball and Dawes counties with multiple operators reporting targets and fields.

The Great Western Sugar Company will pay sugar beet growers 21 706 600 as the first 1955 crop payment. Checks go out Nov 19 from 18 company factories across Colorado Nebraska Wyoming and Montana. Average per ton figures vary by district from 9.12 in Colorado and Wheatland Wyoming to 10.15 in Billings Montana district and 10 in Lovell Wyoming.

Crash Bruises Sidney Driver At Highway Junction
Mrs. Roy Deitrick of Sidney, 54, suffered bruises and shock when her car rear ended George Bartell’s vehicle at the Highways 30 and 19 junction east of Sidney. Both cars $400 damage. Deitrick treated and released from Memorial Hospital. Also, fourteen hogs died when a double deck truck carrying 149 head tipped on Highway 30 west of Potter.

Local man Crosby arrested on parole warrant and bad checks
Gerald Crosby of Scottsbluff was arrested on Sidney's west edge by Deputy Sheriff Kermit Brumbaugh. He was fined for drunken driving, jailed for nonpayment, later found wanted for parole violation in Indiana and accused of writing a $14.64 bad check. He pleaded guilty to a no fund charge and was bound over to district court on a $250 bond.
