Two Day Session Opens in Sidney Nebraska 1903

The Sidney Telegraph reports the county board of commissioners met November 9 1903 and adjourned to November 10. Members Emanuelson Lindberg and Rihn approved minutes and listed juror candidates for the November district court term and details of election officers and payrolls. The paper also notes theater rehearsals, a funeral service for Sarah Edith Ribble, a masquerade ball by the Degree of Honor, and sheriff visits related to prisoner transport.

Supt R J Phelan of the Burlington toured Sidney by special car. Miss Whiteheart and Miss Waitman visited Sidney. County Clerk-elect Robert Barrett looked for a residence in Sidney. E E Emmet checked local banks. Weather reports via local line 24 after 10 p m. Local misunderstanding caused a stir at the theater. Masons visited Chappell for the new hall dedications. Sidney Lecture Course opened with Everett Kemp praised as a comedian. J M Burress, Auburn real estate man, touring western Nebraska to list farms. The Omaha Hospital and Deaconess Home Association calls for a linen shower. the Epworth League in Sidney forms a committee to solicit donations. School Notes Highlight Student Attendance and Local News

Thomas Faust visited Miss Hiett's room on Tuesday and Anna Stuht returned to the High School Monday after a brief absence. Ruth Cox and sisters are at Grand Island with their mother. Several pupils were tardy due to cold mornings. The infant son of Mr and Mrs Jolly died Sunday morning. funeral Monday afternoon. The night counter man at the Senate restaurant left with the night’s receipts. The Clio dancing club is no more after member protests. Jack Willis at the Union Pacific roundhouse fell from an engine tender Thursday night, sustaining injuries but recovering.
