Ogallala Hunters Are Assured Of Recovery
Four Ogallala duck hunters marooned in the icy North Platte river near the Platte Valley Public Power project were rescued and are expected to recover from exposure and exhaustion. Donald Peterson 18 Robert True Love 19 Ralph Brown 17 and Lloyd Callen 28 were trapped when the river rose suddenly two miles west of the dam. Peterson reached shore by slush and ice while a motor boat, jammed by ice, was used along with a rope to haul the others to safety amid over 100 rescuers.

Relief Funds Go Out To Panhandle Boards
The state assistance committee allocated 304 44.04 to panhandle counties for blind, old age and relief programs for November. State contributed 160 309.02 and federal 144 137.02. Twenty seven counties received 15 685 37 in direct relief from state funds. Blind aid in 64 counties received 2 784.87 state and 2 941.15 federal. Old age assistance in 68 counties totaled 141 838.78 state and 141 195.27 federal. Lincoln and Scottsbluff counties receive slightly less federal funds. Some state allotments are doubled by federal funds for Cheyenne, Banner, Box Butte, and Deuel.

A pile driver used in state highway work fell on two Gering men near Oshkosh, causing serious injuries. Charles Fullen, 21, had both ankles broken and extensive bruising.
