Two Nabbed In Phone Thefts At Ordnance Plant

Sheriff W. W. Schulz reports recovery of stolen telephones from Sioux Ordnance Depot and the arrest of two Sidney area youths with two more being questioned. Great Plains Wheat Association Formed

Denver reports the Great Plains Wheat Market Development Assn formed to expand wheat markets in Colorado Kansas and Nebraska. Former Rep Clifford Hope of Kansas chairs the executive committee with members from Holly Julesburg Larned Oxford Venango Imperial and other wheat regions. Plans include offices in Europe and South America and promotions in Africa and India. The first board meeting is set for Denver December 9 ahead of the National Association of Wheat Growers meeting.

Former County Farmer Dies Of Heart Attack

Elmer Hughes, a Cheyenne County resident and uncle of Neil Hughes of Sidney, died at his Washoughal Washington home Saturday evening from a heart attack. He had farmed near Hunstman before relocating to Washington. Survived by his wife three daughters a son J D Hughes and wife Corrine McMillan of Sidney two brothers including Merle Hughes an engineer at West Nebraska General Hospital in Scottsbluff.

About 80 residents attended a veterans tribute in Sidney with a later stage bean feed for veterans drawing a larger crowd. Traffic and Break-In Cases Heard in County Court

Glenn R. Ronch faced reckless driving charges and pleaded not guilty in County Court with a hearing set for 10 a.m. November 18 and bond at 150 dollars. John T. Meli pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and was bound over to District Court with bond 200 dollars and 5.25 in court costs. Ross Bayne was found guilty of attempting to sell poisonous treated wheat and fined 1 dollar plus 9.60 costs. Jimmy L. Hamilton was found guilty of drinking on the highway and fined 25 dollars plus 4 dollars in costs.
