Special agents of the Union Pacific recovered bundles of vouchers identified as missing from the Harrisburg Bank. The loot amounted to 16500 dollars in checks and currency taken during the August 20 vault robbery. The bundles were found along the new Union Pacific extension near Egbert where the Egbert Creighton line crosses the Lincoln highway. The search traced the gang's possible rest stop before rejoining the main line.

Gurley Youth Paroled To Father In Auto Case
Leo W. Thompson a 19 year old Gurley youth pleaded guilty in Morill county court to auto theft. He drove the car from the depot at Bayard to Scotts Bluff and abandoned it. The judge parole him to his father and uncle after all expenses of the suit damages and other costs were paid by relatives. The case was up last week.

Non-Stop Fliers Killed In Mountain Crash Near Prescott
In a fatal crash near Crook Canyon 23 miles south of Prescott Arizona the monoplane Yankee Doodle carrying Capt. C. B. Collyer and Harry Tucker crashed in rain and fog while on a Los Angeles to New York non-stop flight. Parachutes and landing flares indicate an attempted escape. wreckage scattered along the canyon and identified the victims. The crash occurred after the plane scraped treetops and exploded on impact.

Pioneer Resident of Cheyenne County Dies of Asthma
George Quirin a long time resident south of Dalton died last Thursday after an extended illness from asthma and heart trouble at age 70. Funeral services were held at Grace Lutheran church Gurley with Rev. W T Kahse officiating and burial at Gurley cemetery. A Alsace Lorraine native who came to America in 1881 he lived in Columbus Ohio before moving west in 1890. He homesteaded four miles south of Dalton, later living with the Fredericksen family until his death. He had no known relatives in this country but had kin in his homeland.

The east and west buses have not passed through Sidney since last Thursday and did not run yesterday afternoon. No eastbound service since Thursday after Wednesday’s blizzard blocked roads. Two westbound trips Thursday before supplies ran out. western station awaits machines to return before resuming. A blizzard at Kearney Thursday night worsened road conditions. North and south buses have run nearly on schedule since Friday.
