Ranchers as Deer Guides Proposed by Western Nebraska Sportsmen

Western Nebraska ranchers in Morrill were urged to serve as deer hunting guides to curb livestock losses from hunting on their land. The idea mirrors Wyoming practice charging about $10 per day. Pheasant numbers appear strong, with a mild winter likely restoring a high population by the 1990 season. Blackbirds damaging corn and grain drew complaints, with calls to remove them from the state protective list.
