Students to Visit Western Nebraska Geology Trip
A group of 20 University of Nebraska geology students will undertake a 4200 mile summer field trip through seven western states. They start in June, study Ogalalla formations at Ogallala and Sidney, proceed to Kimball and Scottsbluff, inspect fossil and bone quarries at a gate, visit Cambridge oil site, and survey south Platte region geology on return.

Local Boy Scout troops toil at a new camp site west of town preparing for summer outdoor activities. Fourteen scouts worked last Saturday on minor repairs and construction with more joining to build a dam fence premises and supply gravel for cement work.
