Baccalaureate Service at Sidney M E Church

Fire Calls Answered Promptly in Two Town Endls

Two fire calls answered Thursday afternoon. One incident in the far west end involved a burning shed, the other in the eastern town area. Firefighters responded promptly to both calls.

Memorial Services for Grand Army of the Republic Held

Veterans of the Grand Army of the Republic gathered at the Odd Fellows Hall and M E Church to honor fallen soldiers. A sermon by Rev Samuel Light praised the G A R and national service, with the city ministers, choir under Miss Carlson, and congregations contributing to a fitting memorial service.

Organ For Catholic Church Thripe orgiun Ordered by Ladies

An organ ordered by the ladies of the church was shipped Monday and will arrive in time for services on June 5. It is the first of its kind in the diocese and will cost about three thousand dollars. The ladies are highly commended for their successful efforts.

Omaha Boosters Welcomed in Sidney by City Leaders

The Omaha Boosters on a regional tour arrived in Sidney with 125 members and 25 musicians. Mayor Grabill, J W Johnson, and Councilman Jorgenson led a readiness reception. officials granted the freedom of the city as locals cheered the party. Souvenir literature and balloons in booster colors were distributed as the band led the procession.

Sidney Community Association Banquet

The Sidney Community Association plans a June 15 banquet at the church basement to unveil the draft constitution prepared by a fifteen member committee. Eighth Grade Commencement Honors Cheyenne County Graduates

The largest Cheyenne County Eighth Grade class graduated Tuesday afternoon under County Superintendent’s administration. A large audience filled benches and chairs from local churches to honor 91 students.
