The Sidney Chautauqua will run five days starting June 20 with a strong Redpath Horner program. Attendance is expected to be high as committees report volunteer enthusiasm and advance ads begin. IX year old boy killed by playful calves
Andreas Kretz, six years old, was killed while driving calves from the pasture near town. He tied a wire to one calf and was jerked into rocks, causing fatal injuries. His funeral was held at the Catholic church, as friends mourn the loss of the young helper in the family.

The May 22 1914 Sidney Nebraska village meeting discussed a special election to submit a $10 000 bond for a city hall and fire house and a separate library maintenance proposition. A power company proposal outlined meter testing, voltage equalization, lighting upgrades and a pumping station overhaul with annual payments and six year street lighting.

Storm In Northwest Tableland Causes Stock Losses

The newly formed Sidney Gun Club conducted a trial shoot on the north hill last Sunday morning.
