Alumni Banquet Recalls 1897 Class at Sidney High
The Sidney High School Alumni held its second annual banquet at Pythian Hall with about forty attendees. Toasts honored the university, teachers, and the class of 1897. Bacalaureate Sermon for 1897 Class at Methodist Church
Rev. Randolph of Lodge Pole preached the bacalaureate sermon Sunday night at the Methodist Church after 8:00. The service featured a double quartet and choral music. He praised school life and duties to the Creator, offering Christian guidance and well wishes for graduates as the evening closed with Miss Chowins leading the farewell.

Union Pacific Western Union case orders immediate division
In Omaha on May 24 Judge Munger ordered the supplemental decree in the Union Pacific and Western Union suit. The decree will be entered forthwith and the companies have until September 1 to divide telegraph equipment and property. A master in chancery will oversee distribution and both sides may seek court orders as needed. The Postal Telegraph company actions were noted but not central to the ruling.
