Death of J T Rivett in Angora Nebraska

John T Rivett died at his Angora home on May 17 after a long illness. He was 55 and well known locally. The remains were taken to Lincoln for burial. Rivett ran a general store in Angora after moving west for health reasons following years with the Burlington railroad in Lincoln.

May Be Freed From Life Sentence for Stepfather Killing

Anton Krupicka, sixteen, was sent to the penitentiary for life for killing his stepfather. He has a chance for pardon after a hearing before the governor. Supporters argue the case is clear and a human life may not be wasted for killing a man many view as bad.

Scaffolding Fall Injures Workmen At Bentley House

On Wednesday a scaffolding collapse at the new Bentley house sent Supt Hiscock and carpenter Joe Stont plunging fifteen feet. Hiscock escaped with minor injuries while Stont suffered severe bruises and shock and remains under care at the Pioneer hotel.

Parks and Robinsons Wed in Julesburg Ceremony

George Hudson Parks and Francesa Robinson were married on April 21 1910 in Julesburg Colorado. The groom, son of J J Parks, works for Union Pacific, and the bride, a Chappell school teacher, will tour briefly before settling in Sidney to host friends after August 1.

The Friday night St Elmo performance drew a nearly full Sidney audience as the troupe impressed in a strong showing. Professor Vath's orchestra provided superb music and the crowd praised the production, asking for another such presentation.

Runaway Injures D. T. Hall at Burlington Station

D. T. Hall suffered serious injuries when a team hauling cream at the Burlington station bolted, throwing him under the wheels. He was rushed to Cheyenne hospital in grave condition. Hall had arrived from Maquoketa, Iowa last fall.

While driving on the North divide last Sunday Bob Dyke had to jump from the wagon to contort the harness as the team bolted. He managed to regain control but sustained significant head and facial bruising in the incident.
