Le Bourget France May 21 Capt Charles Lindbergh landed from New York after 33 hours 30 minutes alone in a single motor monoplane. He told the crowd So this is Paris I did it and then collapsed briefly. Thousands cheered as barriers broke and troops tried to restore order. The crowd seized the plane and a procession of cars carried Lindbergh toward Paris amid cables of congratulations.

The Royal Neighbors of America hold the tri county convention at Chappell on May 25 with Kimball Cheyenne and Devel counties represented. Delegates register at 11 AM at the high school auditorium and the official program begins at 1 30 PM including a school of instruction district reports election of 1928 officers and entertainment. J A Talich, a well known farmer northeast of Lodge Pole, was badly injured in an automobile accident on the highway near the Koch ranch. His car overturned due to a defective steering wheel while he drove toward Chappell. Witness Koch found him and he was taken to Chappell for medical care. Talich suffered multiple broken ribs a broken right shoulder a crushed chest and severe bruising and lacerations to the right side before being returned home.
