Sidney public schools close a strong term with a week of programs starting May 22 at eight p.m. in the M E church. The baccalaureate service features Miss Helen Doran and Rev J H Bicknell with the high school chorus and readings by Rev Kaub. Commencement exercises follow on Thursday May 26 with Miss Evelyn Doran leading the processional. Continuous coverage on page seven.

East Ward School Operetta Set For Monday Evening
The fifth grade of East Ward schools will present Aunt Druailla's Garden at Tobin's Opera House Monday evening May 23 at 8 o'clock. Sixth graders assist in the performance with Milas Carolyn Kennedy as Nelda and Thelma Ladegard Marjory Sellers as her aunts. Ta-Vern Thomas plays Bob with Sam McCleneghan as Tad to hear Nelda. Karyle Betts is Irish Pat and Lois Hardy is Tiny in speaking roles.

Miss Geraldine Kennedy Selected Secretary in Chevrolet Contest
Geraldine Kennedy a popular Sidney high school junior has been chosen by the Merchant's Chevrolet Contest group to act as secretary and record keeper during the contest. She will manage the desk and ballot box at Thayer Rexall drug store and keep daily standings. Standings are published twice weekly in The Telegraph, with initial results appearing Tuesday of next week.

Sid ney Star franchise sale changes hands in Sidney
Tuesday the Sidney territory Star cars and trucks selling franchise and stock of parts were sold by Mason and Brethower to L O Fundingsland and J P Reisdorff. The new owners plan to keep the Star agency at the same location with a full Durant Motors lineup and a complete sales and service station. Fundingsland, a well known local businessman, recently based in Burlington Colorado, partners with Reisdorff to run the growing operation. Mason and Brethower will relocate to Sterling to run a central Durant Motors distributing agency covering Kimball Cheyenne Dever Logan Yuma counties and Nebraska.

E C Stockdick reports the sale of the Hans I Christenson property at 208 East 4th St to W S Nagle. Nagle came from Kalamazoo Michigan and homesteaded in the Goshen Hole area south of Mitchell years ago. He later sold Watkins products near Sidney and chose Cheyenne County for his home. Mr and Mrs Devone Pratt and a nephew and wife are expected to join him in Sidney soon.

Parent-Teacher Association Ends Good Year
The closing session on May 18 marked the end of the year for the Parent-Teacher Association. Attendance was strong with programs including songs led by a high school faculty member, a devotional, readings by Mrs. Dirks, and a talk on law enforcement by Attorney Hodgkin. Freight train victim in serious condition in Wyoming
Frank Kuns of Diamondville Wyoming remains in Taylor hospital after two weeks with severe injuries from a Union Pacific freight train. He suffered crushed feet requiring amputation of part of each foot and later one foot above the ankle. He was found after four hours on the railroad right of way from blood loss.

Memorial Day Plans for Sidney Observance May 30
A tentative program for the Memorial Day observance in Sidney on May 30 is being organized by Sidney Post No 17 American Legion committees led by Commander P C Cunningham. A graveyard service at the Unknown Soldier starts at nine with a theatre gathering to follow until about eleven. Chaplain J J Crawford handles the Potter service and Attorney Claude Holdin serves as city chaplain. A fuller program will appear later in The Telegraph.

Wyoming village wiped out with reservoir flood
A wall of water from the Slide dam on the Gros Ventre river swept Kelly Wyoming at noon Wednesday, with Wilson then submerged by a twenty foot high flood two hours later. No deaths in Wilson due to early warning. Kelly reports fatalities including Max Edick and Mrs. May Lovejoy among others. The dam formed after Sheep Mountain slid on June 4 1935, with tremors causing further mountain movement and widespread flooding in Montana regions afterward.
