Miss Frances Wright, city supervisor of music and newly elected Des Moines school supervisor, was elected a faculty member of the American Institute of Methods in Chicago. The position carries significant responsibility and includes weeks of July study with supervisors from across the country. Wright was chosen from a large pool of applicants, a strong tribute to her abilities as an instructor.
A village reports unsafe sidewalks with holes and unguarded moments causing a fall but no bones broken. Neighbors urge abutting property owners to maintain walks and say the village may compel compliance to ensure safe pedestrian passage.
The Lodge pole Teachers Association held a lively final meeting of the school year last Saturday. The Dew School was decorated with American colors for a handsome exhibit and the program included papers and discussions. During a peaceful reception in the afternoon teachers and high school students served punch and cake to visitors.
W J Stuart named district foreman of the Eastern Wyoming division replacing H C Langdon who moves to other duties. Stuart, a traveling engineer for four years, is regarded as highly qualified for the promotion. Langdon previously led the division for about four years after succeeding J H Stubbs in 1908. It remains to be seen who will be Langdon’s successor or Stuart’s exact posting. Rumor suggests E McCarthy may become traveling engineer.
The Campbell Brothers circus performed in Sidney on a windy dusty day with closed cages and limited music. Despite rain and high wind causing many numbers to be cut, a large crowd stayed on the bleachers to support the Nebraska product.
Real estate transfers show numerous lodgepole and Lodgepole area lots exchanged among multiple buyers including Leo Killgore, Herman Spriger, Delius Durkee, and William Dempster with tallies like 2,500 to 34,080. Several teachers listed and pupils noted for vacation plans and illness.
