Fort Sidney directors issue report on hotel stock offer

The Sidney Community Hotel Corp board released a situation report after Mid-West Motel Corp of Menlo Park Calif offered to buy about 80 percent of the Fort Sidney Motor Hotel stock. Directors consider dividend payment and a stock repurchase plan while noting assets of 447 182 14 and liabilities of 111 843 56 with over 200 000 spent since 1968 on renovations.

St Patrick's Schools may reinstate two grades this fall

Duane Gross, superintendent, says St Pat's in Sidney may add fifth and sixth grades as early as fall. A June 1 board decision, feasibility studies, and parish support push the plan under a four four structure with no new capital outlay.

Anderson ends 39 year run as Banner County schools chief

J F Anderson will retire after 39 years as Banner County superintendent, the longest tenure among Nebraska leaders. He built a K-12 district, expanded facilities, coached multiple sports, and led the county to strong student achievement. Frank Madison will succeed him, with Anderson planning to stay active in the Harrisburg area.

Cheyenne County Eyes Stable Results From Canvass

No changes in election outcomes after the official canvass completed Friday. Total votes were 2,517 with Reagan taking about 66 percent of GOP ballots and Carter leading Ford in the county primary. Delegates listed include Narjes, Blome, Matzke, Dorwart, and Rauner among others.

Nebraska Hospitals Seek Medicare Reform For Nursing Home Care

Sidney Memorial Hospital administrator Darold Hendee plans a Tuesday discussion in Lincoln with rural hospital specialist John Kern and Mike Mahr of the Bureau of Health Insurance plus a HEW official. The Nebraska Hospital Association says Medicare rules force 24 hospitals with attached nursing homes to overcharge privately paying patients by 2.5 million dollars yearly, amid offsetting losses in nursing home operations.
