Cynthia Meissner, a Sidney High School senior, is named an alternate finalist in the Nebraska Elks Association state Most Valuable Student contest and receives a $600 scholarship. Hospital in Sidney marks 20th anniversary open house
Memorial Hospital and Home in Sidney will host a Sunday open house from 2 to 4 pm marking 20 years. Tours of all departments will run, with department heads explaining functions, plus free blood pressure screening by the Sidney Nurses Association and Nebraska Heart Association in the east wing from 10 am to 12 noon and 1 to 3 pm Monday through Friday.

Sidney City Council Clears SIDCO Title Transfer
Sidney City Council in a special session approved an ordinance to finalize a title transfer from the City of Sidney to SIDCO. Narjes and Guy F Bush of SIDCO noted Tri-State Generation and Transmission Corp of Denver awaits the transfer to complete the deal, with the plan to move title into compliance with state statute.
