McNish is a Sidney attorney. Felt works in The Ohio Oil Co land dept in Sidney. Gee is Ohio’s Casper division legal counsel.
Lawrence L. Ernest, 60, of Brush, Colorado, brother of Mrs. S. B. Hopkins Sr. of Dalton, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home on Thursday, May 8. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Brush Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife and two sons, Douglas of Laurel Montana and Keith of El Paso Texas, three grandchildren, and nine brothers and sisters including Otto and Mrs. Mary Abbott of Sidney, Mrs. Hopkins of Dalton, Joe of Wiggin, Colorado, Mrs. Anna Nelson of Omaha, Mrs. Rose Flynn of Modesto, California, Mrs. Julia Robertson of Bill Wyoming, Anton of South Sioux City, Nebraska, and Carl of Veronica, Oregon.
Police investigated a Wednesday accident in Sidney where Edith Oldershaw backed from the curb and struck the right front fender of Rosemary Townsend's car. No damages were listed in the report.

Pratt, Harry Krusz, and Sen. Norval B. Dame. several hundred chamber officials and spouses expected. Richard H. Good and M. R. Sigler hold key officers roles.

The written test starts 1 30 p m Saturday at the high school library, about an hour. The driving phase begins 1 30 p m Sunday on the street north of the high school. Last year's winner was Lawrence Saab. Lanny Welton chairs the event with Tore Strom as assistant. Jaycees Lew Schneider and Joe Andrzejewski also serve. Sidney Police and Deputy Sheriff Kermit Brumbaugh assist. Public urged to attend.
El Palomino motel marks its first anniversary under new ownership with an open house Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Co owners Joe Boen and Sam Odland invite the public to tour the 22 unit property. Free coffee doughnuts and a 25 000 mile travel guide to western states and Canada will be given. El Palomino is AAA and Best Western listed and recently joined Diner's Club.
A special advisory committee will pick a site for a proposed state school for mentally retarded children and send a recommendation to the Board of Control. The five Nebraska cities under consideration are Lexington, Sidney, Alliance, Conad, and Central City. The Legislature appropriated 80 000 dollars for the school. Committee members include Dr Vernon Hungate, Dr M Wyant, Mrs L A Enerson, and Mrs Ruth Sorensen.
Local elevator sources report a wheat price of 188 dollars per bushel today. No additional commodities or market actions are listed.
The Omaha Chamber of Commerce honors long time livestock producers and shippers at the Pioneer Shippers Recognition Banquet in the Livestock Exchange Building on May 21. Art M. Nelson of Sidney is among those to be recognized for his early Omaha shipments before 1908. Bruce Russell of Farmers National Co. will speak. 490 patrons have been recognized since the program began. Guests may attend with a guest or reserve seats for $2.50 at the Chamber office.
Helen Shaw 56 died suddenly at home in Sidney at 1540 9th Ave after years of ill health. Funeral Monday at 1:30 p.m. from Maloney-Kuhns Mortuary with burial in North Platte. Survivors: husband Ralph Shaw son Dale Madsen sister Elma Rogers brothers Otto and Abbe Schmidt.

The FCC paused action on the proposed grant of TV Channel 13 at Alliance Nebraska to Western Nebraska Television Inc. due to a protest by Frontier Broadcasting Co. operating KSTF Scottsbluff. If no objection is raised the grant would have become automatic but Frontier filed petitions seeking further investigation of Western Nebraska's financing plans.
