Nebraska Crop Outlook Improves Over Winter Wheat Estimate
Nebraska’s winter wheat outlook shows improvement with May 1 condition at 75 percent of normal, up from 68 percent on April 1. Despite remaining behind the five year average, continued rains could push 1936 production higher than last year’s 36.4 million bushels, with the southern half receiving heavy rains and the panhandle drier.

Nebraska to Regulate Truck Rates and Certificates
An order by the late railway commission takes over jurisdiction of rates operation and accounting for Nebraska motor truck operators. Trucks must obtain certificates of public convenience and necessity and tariffs must be filed. Interstate rules already require certificates. The move follows a September 25 hearing and two to one commission vote with mixed opinions among truckers.
