Family travels to Nebraska in covered wagon to build booming manufacturing operation
Berwyn based Elsco Manufacturing led by Ernest and Carl Elfgren built a move from Berwyn to Gothenburg to expand after securing federal contracts. The family, who arrived by covered wagon in 1956, started with small government orders and now holds about 71 000 dollars in contracts including 26000 drogue tray assemblies. The venture has boosted local employment and community growth despite relocation.
