Stewardship Of Resources Is Promoted
Lincoln Nebraska news reports University of Nebraska extension official Harold H. Gilman urges nationwide Soil Stewardship Week May 11 to 18. He notes soil and water programs began to aid agriculture but now serve broader goals as most land is privately owned, influencing America’s environment and future. The observance is proclaimed by Gov. Tiemann and sponsored by soil conservation districts nationwide, including 86 in Nebraska. Community efforts will spread the conservation message to rural and urban citizens.
