Joe Martin Dies At 71 in Sidney Funeral Rites
Joe Martin, 71, died yesterday morning in Cheyenne County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Saturday from Gehrig Funeral Home, with Rev. Dan Allen officiating and burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Martin came to Sidney in the early 1920s, worked as a fry cook at the Union Pacific Hotel, later bought a farm north of Potter, and farmed until his death. A longer obituary will appear in Friday's Telegraph.

Crawford Businesses Close For Fort Robinson Slick Up
Crawford business houses will close May 16 to allow all merchants to join in the historic old Ft Robinson “slick up” ahead of the June 3 free barbecue. Airplane Misses Being Shot Down Over Local Depot

Cheyenne County receipts show last year 7 995 61 dollars in school district tax money allocated to the county general fund.
