Fire Burns One of Sidney's Oldest Buildings
A Sunday blaze destroyed a long-standing Sid ney structure near Front street once used as a bottling works by Mr Solomonson. Wind aided the hot flames as townsfolk helped fire crews and the dashed water supply struggled from a distant hydrant, delaying work until waterworks arrive.

Bryan Volunteers Form in Cheyenne County
The Bryan Volunteers of Cheyenne County were organized last Saturday evening with Joseph Oberfelder as president Herman G Miller as secretary and Charles S Anderson as treasurer. A large attendance of Democrats attended and a poll of the county will be conducted. They become an adjunct to the state organization and aim to attend the national convention with a special train from Bridgeport to Denver on July 6. A three member committee was appointed to arrange this and report at the next meeting. The committee will handle opera house decorations for Col Bryan's visit on June 2 and collect subscriptions for those wishing to participate.

Valiant Lodge 98 Visitation to Kimball Lodge Event
The Sidney based Valiant Lodge No 98 team visited Kimball Lodge to aid rehabilitation. Nineteen new members were initiated after a start Wednesday at 7 pm, continuing until 2 30 am Friday. A four foot long key was presented, and an appendage banquet followed with high spirits throughout.

Sarah B Shobert born in Pennsylvania June 3 1856 married to W H Adams October 2 1817. They lived in Council Bluffs then Sidney since 1885. Survived by husband two children Howard and Ella Tarkington and many kin. Funeral at home conducted by Presbyter Corbett with Degree of Honor and Knights of Pythias in attendance. The Telegraph extends sympathy.

Widow Louisa M Williams dies in Caldwell Kansas 1908
Mrs Louisa M Williams dies at her Caldwell Kansas home on April 14 1908 aged 88 years 9 months 6 days widow of over fifty years with ties to Sidney from 1872 to 1885. Born Louisa Margaret Reid in Liberty Indiana she married Dr Brooks Williams and had four children James R Williams John Q Williams Anna Collins and George who died in 1901. Funeral at M E church on April 17 with Rev Cummings and Rev Curtis burial in city cemetery. Captain William Morrow of Sidney rejoined the Twenty first U S Infantry at Fort Logan Colorado. School Board Meeting Advances Contracts and Debates Vacancies
The bi weekly session at Moderator J. N. Melotosh’s office approved a two year contract for W. R. Pate at 1200 dollars yearly and raised Principal Cline’s pay to 90 dollars monthly. There are several applications for vacancies in Chambers and Hiett rooms to be decided next meeting. Forbes-Greene Construction Co. submitted its monthly estimate with undrawn balance of 4300 dollars. school bonds remain unsold.
