Minnie Juhl 100th Birthday Shines With Hard Work

Minnie Louise Juhl, a lifelong Nebraska resident, will turn 100 on Wednesday. She credits a busy life of farm work, pie baking, gardening, and caring for family as key to longevity. Born March 31, 1876 near Peru, she lived on farms southeast of Peru and later Brock before settling in Potter. She married Charles Juhl in 1900, raised a family, and remains sharp in hearing and speech, though cataracts limit sewing. Governor Exon commemorates her centennial with an admiralship in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska.
