For the first time in Sidney history two former Maroon football players may join the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Larry Jones, a Husker freshman, shines in spring drills under Coach Bill Glassford and played right guard on the Red team that beat the Whites 24 to 0. Confiscated Guns to Be Sold at April Auction
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will auction confiscated guns on Saturday April 10 at 2 00 p m at the State Fair Grounds 4 H Club building Lincoln. Seventy guns will be sold to highest bidders by Officers Roy Owen and Lee Bowers compared with 134 last year. Guns on display are 14 rifles 15 410 gauge shotguns 10 16 gauge and 33 12 gauge. A listing of each gun and its condition is available from the Commission offices at the Capitol. Twenty six game animal hides including five buffalo one elk and twenty deer hides will also be sold by auction with sealed bids accepted prior to the sale.
