F L Dinsmore was found guilty of first degree murder in the December shooting of Fred Lane at Odeosa. A new trial was denied and the execution date set for July 20. A tense incident saw witness B F Tussing attempting to enter the jail with a loaded revolver, leading to his arrest and charges.

Kellams Sale Draws Crowd at Sid ney with Strong Prices
The public sale at W H Kellams place north of Sid ney drew a large crowd despite a hurricane wind. Cattle sold well with cows $25 to $41, calves $11 to $19.50, two year olds $25.50 to $35, yearlings $12.25 to $26. Horses brought $22 to $86. Nearly $2,400 realized. little furniture sold. Kellams, in Cheyenne county six years, left debt free and plans to start anew south of Kearney in about a year.

The Sidney Dramatic Company earned high praise for The Woven Web a Civil War era drama presented over two nights at the Court House. Cast members J H Barnhart M J Sanders J C Neubauer and Frances McEvoy drew strong applause for vivid character work and engaging scenes. The Sidney Orchestra provided excellent music and about 85 dollars in receipts were reported for the two shows. The play moves to Lodgepole tonight inviting neighboring residents to attend.

A Cheyenne county meeting of stockmen at Masonic Hall organized a Live Stock and Protective Association. A constitution and bylaws committee was named for a March 31 session to finalize the plan. Sheriff King was named county hide inspector, and members pledge to bar suspected rustlers and to refuse purchases from firms dealing in tainted meat.
