Kinkaid Unanimously Re-nominated as Sixth District Candidate

The Sixth district Republican convention at Alliance re-named Judge M. P. Kinkaid for congress by acclamation and elected W. P. Miles and E. C. Harris as delegates to the national convention in Chicago. Jas. L. McIntosh praised Kinkaid. Miles led votes with 183, Harris 140. district committee members chosen. event included a club smoker and thanks to Alliance residents.

District Court set to convene next Monday

Local notes report district court opening next Monday. Several town figures visited, including RB Scott of Bridgeport and J C Wolfe of the Lodgepole Express, with others listed on various business, social, and legal matters through the week.

Sanford Dodge Company Delivers Dual Hamlet and Don Cesar de Bazan

The To Bin Opera House drew a large crowd for two Sanford Dodge Company performances last Saturday and Monday. Don Cesar de Bazan starred Mr. Dodge in the title role while Hamlet featured his acclaimed portrayal of the prince. Mrs. Dodge as Ophelia and the supporting cast earned praise for their polished, powerful performances with curtain calls after each act. The Sidney audience and out-of-town delegations praised the production, urging continued patronage and gratitude to To Tobin Bassett McIntosh for bringing quality theater to the city.

Disturbance On Train Leads to Arrest in Nebraska

Benjamin Durham from Cheyenne caused a scene on No. 4 with a large gun. He claimed threats by a white man and a negro, said he killed himself, and showed a bullet. Deputy Washburn arrested him at Kimball after a struggle. he was disarmed and jailed, later released after an apparently clearer account.

Sidney Visitors Bring Gilt Edge Dairy Goods and Courtyard Talks

Robert McConnell of Simla joined Sidney visitors with a load of gilt edge dairy products. Delegates from the county attended the congressional convention, including Jas L. McIntosh J C Hudson F O Wisner J E Trinnier James McMullan and F A Gapen. The Hub editor M A Brown of Kearney stopped in en route from the convention. The Western Nebraska Teachers Association plans to meet in Sidney in April with program details to follow. The H C Club enjoyed an Evening in England hosted by Mrs. Danforth with talks on English figures and music by Gapen Kane and Mrs. Danforth. Belmont canal residents push irrigation district plans to bond land at ten dollars per acre and buy the canal. Macaroni wheat from Weyerta named by W R Wood yields about 29 bushels per acre and prompts farmer trials. Mary Epps and Myrtle Ackerman hosted friends for Progressive flinch and games, followed by lunch. A government cattle dip formula and care for dip and temperature are noted. Officials warn the Platte River may run low, urging early water use and optimism for adequate supplies later.
