Mrs. Hemmer 76 Dies. Rites Planned for Wednesday
Mrs. Theresia Hemmer 76 died Saturday at her Sidney home after a three month illness. She was born July 4 1880 at Humphrey Neb and married Matt Hemmer in 1899. Funeral services are set for Wednesday 9 a m at St Patrick s Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The Gehrig and Son Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include five daughters four sons 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren plus sisters and a brother. Pallbearers listed.

Tragedy after snowstorm wrecks north of Brady
Two Sidney women died one mile east of Brady as a snowbound two car crash killed Violet Farmer 43 and Eleanor Kallhoff 44 while a third victim William Gardner 58 of North Platte also died. Several others were injured including the Gardners son Bryan 12 and Mrs Gardner’s husband. The wrecks occurred during a severe winter storm with icy roads and multiple spinouts across Cheyenne County Nebraska.

Rogers Truck Lines suffered a trio of Friday accidents. A Wytex Oil rig dropped at the Fred W. Reetz farm damaged a Rogers auto. A Rogers truck collided with a city car in Kimball. Later, three Sidney youths were injured when their car hit a Rogers truck on Colorado Highway 113 near Peetz.

Seven Year Old Drives Car Under Father’s Watch
Lemont W. Jahn of Ft Morgan taught his seven year old son Jahn to drive on Highway 30 near the Kimball Cheyenne County line. The boy steered while the father controlled pedals. Jahn was fined five dollars plus costs after pleading guilty to reckless driving and holding a person in an embrace.
