Denver newspaper war a comic clash over want ads and premiums
The Denver press feud between Bonfils and Howard grows into a lighthearted spectacle as both papers offer want ads as premiums. Families buy ads to seek wives, jobs, or housing, receiving tea, butter, or ice cream, while readers laugh at the merry market. The piece compares the stunt to old political payoffs, notes presidential vacation chatter, and reflects on human nature and value.
