Arrests in Cheyenne County liquor enforcement roundup
Oliver Eicher John Schnell and C D Dougar were arrested in Cheyenne county enforcement roundup on intoxication and liquor in county court. Eicher pled guilty to drunkenness and was fined 10 dollars and costs. Schmell was sentenced to 36 days and fined 35 dollars plus costs. Dougas pled guilty and got 75 days in jail and costs totaling about 10 dollars.

Gurley Pioneer Resident Dies After Brief Illness
Harm Cornelius Weyerts, pioneer resident of Gurley and Cheyenne county, died Sunday at his home after a two day pneumonia illness. Born October 11 1865 in Germany, he lived in the county since 1888 and helped advance local farming and industry. Survived by wife, three sons Cornelius Henry and Garrett, a daughter Margaret Kugler of Wayne, Nebr., and step son George Danneman. Continue on Page Twelve.

Dalton People Attend Funeral at Fremont
Mr and Mrs H C Mintken and Mr and Mrs Arthur Larson returned Thursday evening from Fremont where they attended the funeral of Mrs Mintken and Mrs Larson’s mother. The cancer of the stomach had afflicted her for years but a sudden heart attack ended her life after two hours. The travelers arrived too late to see her before death. This marked the third death mission for the Mintkens and Larsons in the past year.
