District Speech Contest Selections Announced
Eighteen students selected to compete in the District Speech Contest travel March 22 to remote with Panhandle peers. Participants will deliver Original Public Address, Oral Interpretation of Prose and Poetry, Informative Speaking, Intemporaneous Speaking, Duet Acting, One Act Play, and Drama interpretations. Ratings range Superior to Average. a top mark is needed to advance to the State Contest in Kearney March 29-30.

Annual Choral Concert At Sidney High Next Week
The Sidney High Chorus and Sidney High Singers with 7th to 9th graders perform March 19 at 7 30 pm in the Senior High Auditorium. Director Roger Benjamin leads a varied program including classical contemporary pop and electronic pieces featuring a Moog synthesizer.

Twenty Five SHS Students Enter National Math Contest
Twenty five SHS juniors and seniors participated in the 1974 Mathematics Contest held on Tuesday March 12 in Room 206. The 80 minute test covered algebra geometry and trigonometry. Tests were shipped to Omaha for scoring and will return to Sidney in about four weeks with a local winner to be announced then.

NHS Plans National Newspaper Rules With Local Revisions
The National Chapter of Sinners Society launches a quarterly newspaper for nationwide unity. Sidney Chapter received the first issue with optional new rules and may rewrite its constitution to fit them. A pizza party in the Senior High Cafeteria is planned with members bringing food from home, date TBD. A field trip is also being explored by a committee.

Juniors Raise 250 Dollars For Prom Funds
Last week's junior class sale raised about 250 dollars with orders of 53 sweaters and 59 T shirts. Proceeds go toward funding the junior class activities and the prom.
