Two Prominent Sheep Men Die In Plane Wreck
In Oklahoma last Saturday a plane crash killed two major sheep feeders from Lodgepole Nebraska who owned thousands of head in Cheyenne County. James Bledsoe Jr. and James Bledsoe Jr. died in the crash piloted by the younger man. funeral set for Lubbock Texas. Survivors include Mrs. James Bledsoe Jr. and two children. The brothers had suffered heavy losses in January’s blizzard, totaling about 14 thousand head. They fed sheep in Cheyenne County for about three years, some owned and some on contract. Their headquarters were at Lodgepole.

Suits Dismissed Against Interstate Transit Lines
District Judge John Kuns dismissed two damage suits with prejudice in hearings held Saturday. The actions by Wesley Regan and Paul Patton against Interstate Transit Lines, a corporation, were each ordered dismissed with costs to be borne by the plaintiffs and waiver of a complete record.

Prison Terms To Pair For Break In Here
Ernest C. Boston twenty four and Arthur R. Walden twenty were sentenced to six years and one year respectively after pleading guilty to breaking and entering in a hearing before District Judge John Kuns. They were arrested February 24 at Ogallala after breaking into Model Cleaners in Sidney and taking 750 dollars worth of clothing. Two companions Rita Label and Wanda Whiteman were returned to San Francisco after absolved of direct guilt. The four were driving from San Francisco to New York in a stolen 1941 Plymouth coupe stolen February 10 from Ernest Benderson of San Francisco. FBI reports show Boston with fifteen arrests dating back to 1943. The men head to Lincoln this week.

Child Dies In Fall From Car In South Dakota
Five year old Connie Mashek of Sidney died near White Lake South Dakota late Saturday after falling from the moving car driven by her father Phil Mashek during a visit near Kimball. The body was taken to White Lake funeral home where it was said she fell from the car when a door opened. The Mashek family lived near Colton and includes Mr and Mrs Mashek and two other children Larry six and Robert three. Sidney funeral homes had not learned by Monday if she would be buried there.

Koehn Burns Likely To Keep Use Of Hands
Darrell Koehn 22 is recovering from severe burns after a gas fuel mix explosion at the Earl Johnson home on Linden Street last Thursday. He sustains second and third degree burns to hands and face, with right hand most injured but amputation unlikely. Mrs. Johnson also hospitalized after a heart attack tied to the blaze. The fire damaged the structure, weakened joists, and required fire department response. Koehn, a driver for Farmers Union Co-Op Gas and Oil, alerted the Johnsons to shut their furnace and called for help. Insurance coverage for the damage is being reviewed.

SOD Worker Charles Dugan Dies in Omaha Hospital
Word of the death of Charles Dugan of 2204 Newton Street reached friends in Nebraska City. In his early fifties, he sought specialized eye treatment in Omaha on March 3 and died at an Omaha hospital last Wednesday. Funeral and burial were held Saturday in Nebraska City. Mrs. Dugan and their two young children, John, 2, and Nancy, six months, are visiting in Dunbar. Dugan had been employed at the Sioux Ordnance Depot since its early days here.

Light Damages In Two-Car Collision
Two cars collide on Highway 30 one quarter mile east of Sidney at 1 Friday night. Involved are Joe Huaracha and Robert Elsen, both 17 to 20, driving Chevrolets. The Chappell car developed trouble, stalled, and the Elsen car struck it, causing $25 damage to the Chappell vehicle and $50 to the Elsen vehicle.
