Friends here await telegrams from Bassett’s window hoping for recovery.
Mrs. Mary A Coker of Greenville Minute settles a claim against the Chicago Burlington and Quincy Railroad for 1500 dollars and funeral expenses over her husband Coker who died in the line of duty as section foreman. She asks Robert A. Barlow to serve as administrator, a role he accepts, reflecting on his integrity and worth.
Commissioner J B Hais ton drove a new Ford car bought from Dr Beebe the agent last Wednesday. The Haiston agricultural pursuits have paid to that extent enabling him and his wife to indulge in luxury, as the old question about farming appears to be answered affirmatively by many.
The Sidney Fire Department arranges to buy a large amount of new equipment and to repair the old apparatus. The plan emphasizes improving protection against fires and ensuring readiness for any blaze.
Western Union will start next Monday offering night letters at the ten word day rate. The service allows up to fifty words and aims to speed business correspondence by delivering by opening hours next morning. The move is due to large night-time unemployment and seeks to keep workers active. Mrs. Charlee Harper collects for Independent Telephone Company this week. Oberfelder Clothing Company ends stock sale of children's suits as the line is discontinued.
Mrs Flood was attacked by a horse in a pasture while her companion Mrs Yeagle inspected land. Mabel Yaegle helped carry the injured woman about a quarter mile to the house as a doctor was summoned from Sidney. The patient suffered internal injuries and remained unable to move.
Wm Hodgeson of Beaver City returns to town to survey land for a brickyard. He reports good soil sand gravel and shipping facilities and sees immediate demand for thousands of bricks. Officials hope he proceeds with the plant.

Farmers' Elevator speaker from Fullerton praised progress as residents weigh costs, taxes, and the plan to fund a seventy five thousand dollar project through multi-source contributions and an advisory committee to guard lands and ensure title records.
The watering trough in front of the A Pease lumber sheds was repaired this week after winter closure. Farmers again water their horses and place orders for lumber and coal, the landmark trough having been raised considerably during repairs.
