Over Fifty Sites Now Await Rigs
The backlog of oil locations awaiting drilling rose above fifty in western Nebraska by midweek, concentrated in Sioux Dawes and Box Butte counties. No new producers reported, but activity quickened with major firms teaming with independents for northwest Nebraska tests. By midyear the industry expects whether the region yields substantial oil or remains marginal, with Bethel Drilling and Producing Co. and Volunteer Oil and Gas Co. among new players.
