Killing at Bridgeport Justifiable homicide verdict in Tarble case
The Bridgeport inquest found Ray F. Tarble acted in self defense after a fatal shooting of Ernest Snelling known as Dutch Snelling at McAleese saloon during a quarrel. Tarble, who rode to Dalton and surrendered in Sidney, was released after jurors returned a verdict of justifiable homicide. testimony described Snelling drawing a pistol and Tarble firing twice, with Snelling dying on the saloon floor.
